Welcome to WikiValue™
The home of People Prices & Things™
|
 |
Imagine a cross between Wikipedia, eBay and Facebook and you are sort of on the right track*. WikiValue is a Web 2.0 based, free content, collaboratively written, social networking data base. OK, that's all the buzz words, now what is this really all about?
WikiValue.com™ is a place to ask the world for an appraisal on almost anything. A user simply creates a new page to list an object (or maybe even an idea) and puts it out to everybody else on the internet to find out what it is worth. Get opinions and information from experts in the field and anybody who might actually buy and sell these things.
Before Wikivalue, the best advice you could give anybody looking to find the value of something to sell at an estate or garage sale was "look on eBay and see if there is one up there for sale." Still good advice, but only if they manage to catch a match on that given date, and the right people happen to bid. Wikivalue will keep the item listed and get input from everybody, not just those in the mood to bid at that time.

WikiValue.com™ IS NOT an auction site or a storefront. We deal in nothing but information and we charge nothing for our service. Anybody can view every item on the site without even registering. Registration is FREE and is required if you wish to publish a new page or add information to an existing page. Registered members can send Private Messages amongst themselves, and every registered user has their own Profile Page. This page is literally a blank slate that can be used (almost) any way you choose. We have the most amazing suite of editing tools you will find anywhere to help you design your page, or leave it blank if you so choose. |
|
The Profile Page is intended for personal use and commercial use will be subject to a fee after beta testing. But for now it is free to all.
A "Wiki", for those of you unfamiliar with the term, is a collaborative, interactive website. The information is provided and edited by the users themselves. The site administrators enforce only the basic guidelines. This allows for an incredible influx of information and an ability to evolve in whatever direction users may choose. Rather than trying to block every possible mistake or abuse, a good wiki allows for easy recovery back to the point before a problem.
